Richard Rollin Allen

Richard Rollin Allen
October 20, 1920 ~ November 19, 2012

Richard Rollin Allen of Midwest City, OK was born on October 20, 1920 and left this earth peacefully on November 19, 2012.

Richard is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Edna Allen, his adoring daughter Gaynell Coil of Midwest City, two loving grandsons, Jeff and Travis Siegel, Jeff"s spouse, Angie Siegel, three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Bailey, and Jarrett Siegel, and his sister Bobbi Meier and, numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his Parents Buel and Edna Allen, brothers Buel Allen, Jr., Everett Allen, Keith Allen, Kenneth Allen, Leonard Allen Billy Allen, Calvin Allen, and sisters Grace Igo, Margie Garner, and Imogene Rogers. Richard was born in Bessie, OK where he was one of 12 brothers and sisters and, numerous nephews and nieces.

His stories about growing up on the farm, picking cotton, and causing trouble with his brothers and sisters would leave his family laughing for hours. Richard was known for his quick wit and kind heart. Shortly after he married Edna and moved to Midwest City, he became the neighborhood handyman. Everyone knew that if something was broken, Richard would fix it along with anything else that needed repair. Richard loved working on cars and mowers- there was nothing he couldn"t fix. He had an uncanny ability to look at something, go to his workshop, and build it better than the original.

Richard was a sweet and caring man that touched many lives. Those that had the good fortune of knowing Richard are heartbroken, but are comforted to know that he is in a better place and will never forget how truly special he was.
