Mrs. J. Henry Allen

December 10, 1866 ~ August 22, 1955

Mrs. J. Henry Allen, 89, died unexpectedly about 7:15 PM Monday at her home, 2112 E. Maple. She had been in ill health for several months. Funeral arrangements are pending for Mrs. Allen at the Henninger – Allen Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen's husband, the late Dr. J. Henry Allen, was a romance language professor at Phillips University before his death in 1947. Mrs. Allen was a native of New York and came with her husband to Enid from Idaho in 1924.

Mrs. Allen was a member of the Presbyterian Church and the University Women's Club.

Survivors include two sons, Dr. Harold F. Allen, Coalinga, California, and Dr. Edward J. Allen, New York City; and three daughters, Mrs. N. O. Horning, Rivera, California, Mrs. H. L. Coswell, Leonia, New Jersey and Mrs. Winifred Cole, of the home in Enid.
