Isabella - Memorial service for Emory will be Monday, March 20, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Isabella Nazarene Church.
Emory was born on July 2, 1943 to William "Little Bill" Allen and Mabel Melissa Peterson- Allen in Pawnee and passed from this life on March 14, 2017 in Okeene.
Emory met and married Norma Jean Warner on March 18, 1970 in Watonga. Emory and Norma were married for 47 years and had three daughters. Emory was devoted to his family and always worked hard to ensure they had what they needed. Emory's slogan could easily be "on the road again" as he was a career truck driver. He drove for many companies throughout the years. All employers would say he was devoted and loyal to get the freight delivered on time. Medical issues forced an early retirement from the road, but truly a blessing because Emory found his true passion helping Don Oblander on his farm West of Okeene. His soul was happy watering the cows and tending to the day to day chores. In his spare time he took great pleasure in fishing and visiting relatives all over the country.
Emory was compassionate to the needs of others. He was the caretaker and informer of his family. He made weekly phone calls to his daughter in Idaho, his siblings, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends to give the local Oklahoma weather update, check the weather in their location and to ensure everyone was well. If anyone was not well he would let others know their needs or tend to them himself. He dedicated himself to caring for those he loved. What will we do without our weekly phone call? He will truly be missed. Also, missing will be those simple words of wisdom that brought calm to his daughters, "be still". He leaves behind a legacy of caring for those you love because that is simply all we really have of value.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jim, Harvey and George Allen; a son-in-law Clyde Elliott.
He leaves behind his wife Norma; three children, Clairissa (David) Runyan of Isabella, Ruby Allen/Gary Hite of Filer, Idaho, Ula Faye Allen of Isabella; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four sisters, Beulah (Warren) Duffy of Enid, Alfreda (Archie) Ramsey of Tulsa, Helen Reihm of Missouri and Marie Sharp of Enid; many other relatives and friends.
