Cari Jean Allen, 62, of Purcell, Oklahoma, passed away on June 18, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born on October 19, 1963, in Purcell, Oklahoma, to Martin Andrews (deceased) and Virgie Andrews.
Cari was preceded in death by her father, Martin Andrews; her great-niece, Elli Lynn Holley; and her sister-in-law, Sharon Allen. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Henry William Allen; her daughter, Haley Dennis, and son-in-law Travis Dennis of Norman, Oklahoma; her son, Devon Allen, and daughter-in-law Adriana Estrada of Slaughterville, Oklahoma; and her grandson, Luca Rudy Allen.
She is also survived by her mother, Virgie Andrews; her parents-in-law, Henry and Bertha Allen; her siblings, Karen Brown (Steve), Nancy Childers (Mike Tarp), Robert Andrews (Kelly), Susan Tarp (Richard), and Tara Anderson (Rick); as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Cari was born and raised in the Purcell area and graduated from Morrison High School at the age of 17. She began working full-time immediately after graduation, launching a successful career in the oil and gas industry. In 1985, she married the love of her life, Will Allen, and they built their life together in Purcell.
A devoted wife and partner, Cari traveled extensively to support Will at rodeos and roping events. She balanced a full-time career while completing two years of college before the birth of their daughter, Haley. Later in life, she returned to school and earned her degree from Southern Nazarene University while continuing to work full time and raise her family.
Cari was passionate and competitive in all she did. She was famously the most enthusiastic supporter at her children’s, nieces’, and nephews’ sporting events. She loved golf and spent decades playing with friends and competitors in the Purcell Ladies Golf Association. Over the years, she achieved three holes-in-one and won multiple club championships. Cari retired at 57 and enjoyed her retirement reading, playing golf, and spending time with her grandson, Luca.
She will be remembered for her strength, passion, sense of humor, intelligence, and leadership. Her legacy lives on through the many lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.
A memorial service will be held at Landmark Church in Purcell on Thursday, June 25, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Cari J. Allen Golf Scholarship:
