Beverly June (Lilburn) Allen

Beverly June (Lilburn) Allen
June 6, 1931 ~  July 29, 2016

Beverly June Allen, 85 homemaker, died Friday, July 29, 2016 at 3:20 pm in Bartlesville.

Beverly was born June 6, 1931 in rural Nowata County to parents Ruth Nadine (Smith) and Clifford Auburn Lilburn.

Beverly married Carl Franklin Lewis on August 5, 1947 in Nowata County. To this union, four children were born. In March of 1959, Carl preceded her in death in an airplane accident. Beverly was raised in the country and enjoyed life there. She and Carl lived on the family farm, but after his untimely passing, Beverly moved into town to raise her children, as the farm was too much to keep up with while raising her four little ones. In 1978 Beverly married Robert Allen in Nowata, and the couple again moved out into the country where they remained until moving to Bartlesville in 2002. Bob passed away on May 28, 2013.

Beverly had many hobbies; quilting, and paint by number. She even got her own pilots license in the 1960's. Though she enjoyed many interests, her main focus was always on her family. Beverly loved cooking for her family get togethers, and she loved her grandchildren; they were her absolute favorite thing. Her family will truly miss such a special lady, and an important mentor and role model in all of their lives.

Beverly is survived by her daughters, Carla Jean Dorsey and husband George of Bartlesville, Doris June Bentley of Nowata, and Helen Hammerli and husband Alan of Ramona; her eight grandchildren, Regina Denman of Bartlesville, William Dorsey of Bartlesville, Sue Tibbins of Nowata, Kate Hadley of Bartlesville, Jacob Lewis of Delaware, Matthew Lewis of Bartlesville, Andrea Lewis of Bartlesville; daughter-in-law Barbara Lewis Pattison; and Anna Shaw of Bartlesville; thirteen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Linda Thompson of Tulsa, Winnie Edwards of Talala, and Judy Calvert of Talala; two brothers, Ronnie Lilburn of Talala and Gary Lilburn of Wichita Fall, Texas; she is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Along with her parents, husbands Carl Lewis and Robert Allen, Beverly was also preceded in death by her son, Tommy Lewis who passed away in 2009, a granddaughter Kyle Lewis-Jones; grandson Jerry Brown, and two brothers, Harvey and Wayne Lilburn.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Hillside Christian Church Nowata with Reverend Ben Killion officiating. Service and cremation are under the care of the Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory. Friends who wish, may sign the online guestbook and leave condolences at www.stumpff.org
