Raymond Darold "Dale" Alexander, 78, left this earth on July 16, 2023.
He was born on October 27, 1944 in Canon City, Colorado to Ida Margaret McCorkle and Raymond Dale Alexander. He graduated Southeast High School in 1963 and not long after graduation, joined the military. Dale served two tours in Vietnam and was a proud member of the United States Marine Corps.
Dale had a lifelong, successful career in insurance where he started out selling door to door. His tenacity and charisma contributed to his business growth, and he joined Farmer's Insurance in 1982. His passion for life insurance and people led to many accolades and recognitions throughout his career.
Dale met the love of his life, Glenda, and they were married in 1984, blending together two families, as each had children of their own. Dale and Glenda were true partners, and you rarely found one without the other. They were avid golfers and travelers (often doing both at the same time).
Dale's experience in sales and love for helping others made him a natural at fundraising. He supported many causes over the years and would never hesitate to ask for a donation to something he believed in. Dale never met a stranger! He was a true "people person" and loved talking to and engaging everyone around him.
Dale loved fishing, the OU Sooners, and Motown music. He was a Sunday School teacher, FCA Volunteer of the Year, and longtime member of Putnam City Baptist Church. Most of all, Dale loved his family and friends. He was a proud husband, father, and grandfather.
Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Ida Margaret McCorkle; stepfather Ace Sanders; and his in-laws, Glenn and Billie Kerby.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Glenda Alexander; his children, Geri Alexander and husband Richard, Kristin Battaliou and husband John, and Daxton Alexander; his grandchildren, Julia Battaliou, Campbell Hall, and Dalyn Alexander; his brother, Sidney Sanders and wife Theresa; brother-in-law Brian Kerby and sister in law Janice Melton; and a myriad of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to honor Dale’s life will be held at 10:00 on Friday, July 21 at Putnam City Baptist Church.
