Services for Colene Underhill Alexander, 75, of Stonewall are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Stonewall First Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate.
Ms. Alexander died Friday, August 7, 2015 at an Ada hospital. She was born July 1, 1940 in Ada to Cole Hagen and Dessa Odell Buford Underhill. She attended Jesse grade school and graduated from Stonewall High School. She received a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Education and Administration from East Central University.
Ms. Alexander was a teacher and administrator at Grover Cleveland School in Tulsa, also at Connerville, Pleasant Grove, Roff and Sasakwa schools until her retirement. Later, she was employed with Kerr Lab Research in Ada as a travel associate. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stonewall and the Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her four children, Cole Thompson, LonNell Gambrell and husband Kevin, Cari Thompson and Kyle Alexander and wife Kara, and a daughter-in-law, Susan Thompson, all of Stonewall; a sister, Janey Penick and husband George, Stonewall; twelve grandchildren, Tyler Thompson, Bracy Booth and Neicole VanHorn and husband Justin, all of Ada, Kassidi Thompson, Kelsey Morris, Taylor Alexander, Riley Alexander, Tagen Thompson, Garrett Gambrell, Jericho Thompson, Abigal Thompson and Kailie Gambrell, all of Stonewall; four great-grandchildren, Nolan, Kyra, Archer and Brian; two great-grandchildren on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Jimmy Underhill and Perry Underhill.
Bearers will be Randy Curtis, Jeff Curtis, Greg Curtis, Brad Gipson, Robert Gregory, Jr., and Daryl Sawyer. Honorary bearers will be Johnny Daniel, R. V. Brady, Jimmy Don Goss, Richard Truitt, George Penick, Larry Davis and Doug Stewart.
