Frank Albright, 66, of Dewey, died Thursday in Bartlesville. He was a beloved son, brother, dad, papa and friend to many.
Frank was born the son of Phyllis Raye (Archambo) Rathbun and Larry William Albright on August 12, 1956 in Doylestown, PA. He often commented that he was very ornery growing up the oldest of his siblings. In his early twenties Frank decided to move to Oklahoma to join his mother in Bartlesville where he worked in the City of Bartlesville water department and at TRW Reda Pump. It was during this time that his daughter Autumn was born.
Autumn remembers fondly time spent with dad camping, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Frank decided to answer the call of the wild and moved to Colorado Springs where he enjoyed living in the mountains. While there, Frank worked in the automotive parts industry. Eventually, he heeded a different call, returning to Bartlesville 11 years ago to be closer to family especially his daughter and grandchildren.
From a young age Frank had a passion for anything with a motor, but especially motorcycles, cars, and Baja Bugs (a modified offroad version of the family car). He was still riding his motorcycle until recently, oftentimes Frank would join Al on rides. Frank always had a project car going and loved his Baja Bugs. As he got older he traded in the big motors and started working on smaller motors for friends like the ones found in lawn equipment. His greatest joy came in the form of his family. Although his health limited his physical activity, Frank enjoyed being with them and holding them. Frank loved big and it showed in everything he did.
Frank is survived by his mother Phyllis (Al) Rathbun; father Larry (Lucy) Albright, daughter Autumn Albright; siblings Jim (Mary) Albright, Kerry (Janice) Albright and Cheryl (Dennis) Daniels; grandchildren Alyssa Munkirs, Rebecca Albright, Daniel Johnson and Audrey Munkirs; great grandchildren Parker, Charlie, Ellianna and Juniper and a host of other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has created a fund within the Tri County Tech Foundation to support scholarships in the automotive technology program.
