The funeral for Clifford "C. D." Dowayne Ake, 56, of Prairie Grove, Arkansas, will be 2 PM Saturday, at New Sulphur Freewill Baptist Church, Prairie Grove. The Reverend Glen Faulkner will officiate. Burial will be in Bugscuffle Cemetery, West Fork, Arkansas. Arrangements are by Liginbuel Funeral Home, Prairie Grove.
He was born February 9, 1948, in Hugoton, Kansas, to Clifford L. And E. Lorene Alsup Ake and died Wednesday, January 12, 2005, at Washington Regional Medical Center Hospital, Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was a 1966 graduate of West Fork high school and a veteran of the Army, serving one tour in Germany and two combat tours in Vietnam.
Surviving are one son, Nolan O. Ake of Prairie Grove; two daughters, Angela K. Slape of Compton, Arkansas, and April Dawn Barron of Fayetteville; one foster son, Randy Whitman of Huntsville, Arkansas; his mother, F. Lorean Ake Cunningham of West Fork; one brother, Russel L. Ake of Kibler, Arkansas; one sister, Kathern K. Cooksey of West Fork; four grandchildren; and five foster grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Division of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Evergreen Place, 1100 N. University, Suite 255, Little Rock, AR 72207.
