Graveside services for Jerry will be held at 11:00 a.m., July 7, 2005, at Greenlawn on River Blvd. Pastor Winter will be officiating.
Jerry was born in Ringold, OK and moved to Bakersfield as a young boy.
For his education he attended local schools.
Then he served in the Army during the Korean War.
He retired as a foreman after 33 years of service with the Kern County Highways and Bridges.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Elvie and Effie Agerton, brothers, Elmer and Donald.
Survivors are his loving wife, Mickey Agerton of 33 years; his brothers, Alfred of OK, R.J. of Bakersfield and his sister, Priscilla of Bakersfield; best friends, Howard and Joy Freeman of WY; his children, Sherry Jauch and partner, Jimmy Minyard, Calvin Agerton and wife, Lisa, Tony Prince, Debbie Billings and husband, Greg, Tonya Hawks and husband, Ricky; grandchildren, Tina Bell and husband, Chad, Dusty Hawks and fiancée, Kristin Schutte, Sandy Billings, Misty Jauch, Tawnee Hawks, Amber Prince, Thomas Prince, Crystal and Josh Agerton; great-grandchildren, Dava Bell, Lane Hawks; and mother, Georgia Eaton; and soon expecting, Braden Hawks. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews as well as friends which loved him dearly.
Jerry loved to spend time outdoors sailing either on his board or in his boat. He enjoyed big game hunting in Wyoming with his boys, fishing and family vacations camping at Huntington Lake annually. He also spent many romantic dinners with his wife, Gypsy. He was a gentle loving and caring husband as well as father and grandfather.
He will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
