Betty Jo (King) Adamson

Betty Jo (King) Adamson
May 31, 1953 ~ March 16, 2020

Betty Jo Adamson, 66, of Bartlesville, died Monday in Bartlesville.

Betty Jo and her husband Dan were partners in life and ministry, and after a lifetime of faithful service, she has gone home to her Abba Father.

Betty Jo was born the daughter of Raymond Lester King Sr. and Margaret Louise King on May 31, 1953, in Pomeroy, Ohio. At a young age she moved to New Mexico to live with her grandmother, until rejoining her father in Nowata, OK, where she attended and graduated from Nowata High School in 1971.

While attending the Copan United Methodist Church, Betty Jo met and several years later fell in love with Dan Adamson who was on its music ministry team. They united in marriage on Friday the 13th of July, 2001, in Sedan, KS at The Hollow, and made their home in Bartlesville. Betty Jo helped in the ministry and was ordained into the ministry in 2012. During this time Dan served as the music minister at the New Life Pentecostal Holiness Church. For the past several years Betty Jo worked with Dan in their Sonshine Ministry.

Betty Jo’s passion in life was helping others. She was always a dutiful servant, putting others above herself. She loved her family especially her grandchildren and cared for several of them in her home. Together Betty Jo and Dan served in the many ministries of the church and enjoyed golfing - although she didn’t play, Betty Jo studied the sport and gave Dan many important tips on improving his game. Betty Jo enjoyed taking care of her home and her family. She will be dearly missed on this earth, but this separation is just temporary, she is waiting in heaven ready to rejoice at each new homecoming.

Betty Jo is survived by her loving husband Dan of the home; four children, Jaime Lee Blair, Jennifer Suzanne Wilson and husband Amos, Douglas Duane Adamson and wife Kathi, and Christopher Todd Adamson and wife Beth, as well as numerous others that claimed membership in the family and were accepted as such; three siblings, Peggy Ashley, Ramonda Pearson and husband George, and Ray King and wife Sheila; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and one son Jeremy Blair.

A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel at 4201 E. Nowata Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006. Arrangements are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home – Walker Brown Chapel. Online condolences and remembrances may be shared at
