Shirley Marie (Elmore) Adams
September 10, 1936 ~ July 13, 2020

Shirley was born on September 10, 1936 in Washburn, Arkansas to John Faye and Jewel (Lewis) Elmore. Shirley married Robert (Bob) Adams on September 25, 1981.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Adams; sisters, Linda Gibson and husband Bill of Ft. Smith, AR, Sharon Martin and husband Harold of Ft. Smith, AR, Ronnie Elmore and wife Debbie of Fayetteville, AR; children, Stephen Cottingham and wife Karen of Santa Ynez, CA, Sherri Bennett and husband Philip of Coppell, TX, and Chris Cottingham and wife Jaklyn of Edmond, OK; grandchildren, Joshua Cottingham and wife Jessica of Los Angeles, CA, Adam Cottingham and wife Maureen of Sonoma, CA, Elissa Bennett and husband Farren Burchett of Little Elm, TX, Tiffany Bennett and partner Lauren Trestler of Oakland, CA, Marlo Chapman and husband John of Fayetteville, NC, Caden, Connor and Teague Cottingham of Edmond, OK; great grandchildren, Quincey, Cash, Leon and Violet; stepchildren, Carrie Green and husband Donny of Utopia, TX and Cyndee Eckhardt of Jet, OK. Shirley is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John Faye and Jewel Elmore; brothers, DeWayne, Donal and James Foy; and stepdaughter, Cami Adams.

Shirley was Voting Precinct Captain for her community. She was awarded Legal Secretary of the Year from the State of Oklahoma on more than one occasion. She was active for many years in her church and served as Vacation Bible School Principal.

Shirley started working at the Ford Center a year ahead of the arrival of the Hornets and loved her job and the friends she made while working at the Cox Center in Guest Relations for the OKC Thunder.

Shirley was an avid cook and gardener and loved antiquing. She was an eternal optimist and when she made a friend it was for life.
