Patsy Earline Adams, age 75 of Andover Kansas, formerly of Crescent Oklahoma, Enid Oklahoma, and Bartlesville Oklahoma, passed away June 13th 2016 after a brief battle with Lung Cancer. Patsy was surrounded by her loving family as she went to be with The Lord.
There will be a private service with her immediate family at a later time.
Patsy was born on December 13th, 1940 to Earl Delbert and Lorraine Louise Davis, in Crescent Oklahoma. Growing up, she was educated in the Crescent, OK and Enid, OK school systems, and later attended Enid Business College. This prepared her for a lengthy career in the Oil Industry, first at Champlin Oil Company in Enid OK, and then Cities Service Oil Company in Bartlesville, OK. But the majority of her career was spent working for Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville, OK as an executive in the Treasury Department.
Patsy married Tom F. Adams on March 24, 1956. Tom and Patsy spent 56 happy years together before he preceded her in death in October of 2012.
Patsy had several different hobbies which included reading, crossword puzzles, sodukos, and working in her yard. She loved playing softball and tennis, and enjoyed bowling and skeet shooting as well. Patsy was a big fan of the San Antonio Spurs, and if her team was playing on TV, she was watching it. Patsy was also an avid golfer, playing as often as she could at Hillcrest Country Club and Adams Municipal Golf Course. She was also a tough competitor, and entered many different tournaments over the years. She won the title of "Club Champion" at Hillcrest Country Club in 1989, 1990, 1991, 1993, 1994, 1996, 1997 and 1998.
After retiring from Philips Petroleum, Patsy enjoyed wintering at Travelers World RV Park in San Antonio, TX. Patsy and Tom had many dear friends at Travelers World, and they enjoyed spending the winter months with them, along with her sister Lanora. After Tom's passing in 2012, Patsy moved to Andover, KS where she spent her remaining years being closer to her sister Lanora, her niece Lisa, nephews Marty and Chris, great-nephews Kendall, Joseph and Tagen, and great-nieces Brenna, Sutton, and Jessa. She loved going to see the kids play in their different sporting events, school plays, and recitals. Nothing brought her more joy and happiness than being with her loved ones.
Patsy was preceded in death by her Husband Tom F. Adams, both of her parents, her brother George Grant Davis, nephew Bob Girdler, and her Parents-In-Law.
Patsy is survived by her sister Lanora (Stan) Turner of Andover KS, In-Laws Charles and Pauline Adams of West Plains MO, Joe and Kathy Adams of Greenville SC, and Gene Diller of Andover, KS. Patsy also leaves behind her nieces Lisa Diller of Andover KS, LaGena (Joel) Kinman of Clarksville TN, nephews Marty (Cynthia) Diller of Andover KS, Chris (Heidi) Diller of Hiawatha KS, great nephews Kendall Diller, Joseph McIntosh and Tagen Diller, and great-nieces Brenna Diller, Sutton Diller and Jessa Diller. The little ones brought Patsy immeasurable joy in her final years, and she loved them all dearly. They will miss their "Aunt Patty" more than words can say.
Patsy will be greatly missed by her loving family, her many close friends in Oklahoma, her dear friends at Travelers World RV Park in San Antonio TX, friends and neighbors in Andover KS, and her former neighbors and dear friends Curtis and Lee Anne DeLapp of Bartlesville, OK.
Her family would also like to thank Elizabeth, Janice, Mitch and staff at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. They not only provided compassionate care and kindness to our Patsy, but to her family as well. We can't thank you enough for all you did to make her comfortable in her final days.
Memorials in Patsy Adams honor can be made to: Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Wichita, KS. (Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice 313 S. Market St. Wichita, KS 67202)
