Paula was born on September 27, 1951, in Okemah, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Ivan Leon and Mary (Davidson) Barber. Paula began her education in Seminole and later began attending Hominy Schools. She graduated with the Class of 1969. After nearly 20 years, Paula retired from the Head Start Program in Cleveland. In 2009, Paula moved to Cleveland, where she has continued to reside.
Paula was a very vocal and avid Hominy Buck fan and supporter. She loved watching her kids play sports at Hominy and attended every event possible. Paula enjoyed working outdoors in her flower and rock garden and loved the color of purple. She like spending time with her friends and family, who she adored.
Paula passed from this life on January 25, 2020, at the age of 68, at her home in Cleveland.
Survivors are her son Brent Adams and wife Amanda of Tulsa, Oklahoma and his children Jake, Luke, Will, Elle; one daughter Kinsey Gillum and husband Brandon of Cleveland, Oklahoma and her children Kiersten, Maleah, Brooklyn, Zayden, nephew Brian Marcum of St. Paul, Minnesota as well as numerous other relatives and friends that will mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by her parents Ivan and Mary Barber and a sister Mary Kay Murnan. Donations can be made in Paula’s name to Portable Meals at P.O. Box 191, Cleveland, OK 74020.
