Charles Ray (Raybo) Adams, 65, of Ashland, died Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Tulsa.
The family will receive visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29 at Bishop Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 30 at Bishop Chapel of Memories with Elder Greg Marley officiating. Service arrangements are under the direction of Bishop Funeral Service.
Ray was born to Robert Lee and Della Marie (Anderson) Adams April 21, 1949 in McAlester; he was the youngest of 10 children. He graduated from Kiowa High School and attended Eastern Oklahoma State College.
He married Venda Powell October 20, 1970 in Ashland, Oklahoma.
Ray had worked for OSP, the Paulson Rubber Plant, Austin Davis Feed, First National Bank and retired from Savanna School where he worked as a bus driver and school maintenance man.
He was a member of the McAlester Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness.
Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching NASCAR racing, playing dominoes and penny ante poker. Ray enjoyed riding his horse "Old Blue."
Survivors include his wife of 44 years: Venda Adams of the home; son: Shane Adams and wife, Mary of Canadian; daughter: Sonya Stopp and husband, Jason of Ashland; grandchildren: Montana Adams and wife, Kathleen, Mason Adams and fiancée, Cheyanne Marshall, Colton Stopp and wife, Emily, Jacob Stopp, Skylar Stopp, Shyanna Stopp; great-grandchildren: Brodie Ray Adams, Audrina Stopp, Boston Stopp.
Also, brothers: Doy Adams and wife, Barbara of McAlester, Robert Adams of Petaluma, California; sisters: Betty Ramey and husband, Bobby of Kiowa, Patsy Sweetin and husband, Millard of Ti Valley; sisters-in-law: Richie Adams of Kiowa, Linda Davis and husband, Austin of Ashland, Brenda Griffin of Ashland, Glenda Harris and husband, Joe of Haltom City, Texas, Jeanie Powell of Ashland; brothers-in-law: David Hall of Harpers Valley, Melvin Powell and wife, Donnia of Ashland; and numerous, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Robert Lee Adams and Della Marie (Anderson) Adams; brothers: Don Adams and Paul Adams; sisters: Dorothy Hall, Ella Hall, and Lois Hall; sisters-in-law: Betty Adams and Violet Adams; brothers-in-law: Henry Hall and L.L. Powell; and a grandson: Dakota Shane Adams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Harris, Melvin Powell, Austin Davis, Joe Watkins, Montana Adams, Mason Adams, Colton Stopp, Jacob Stopp, Paul Davis, and Joe Brown.
