Agnes Acton was born September 16, 1922 in Henryetta, OK to Grace (Wallace) Hamilton and James Hamilton. She passed from this life on October 5, 2007 at the age of 85 years and 19 days. This special lady, who has not walked for the last 3 years is now walking all over heaven on streets of gold.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, John Sams, her second husband, Bruce Acton Sr., one son, John "Bambi" Sams, three brothers, Orville Hamilton, Dale Hamilton, and Dean Hamilton, and two sisters, Gertrude Gaynell Hayes, and Jessie Hamilton.
She is survived by 1 son, Bruce Acton Jr. and wife, Tommie Jean of Kiefer, OK, two daughters, Karen Isaacson of Tulsa, OK, and Carla Rose and husband Joe of Henryetta, OK. , two brothers, J. G. Hamilton of OKC, OK, and Raymond Hamilton of Pennsylvania, and one step-sister, Margie McKay of Henryetta, OK, 7 grandchildren, Deborah Brooks and husband Kenneth of Guymon, OK, Cindy Fuerstanau and husband Jeff of Guymon, OK, Bruce Acton III and wife Cindy of Kellyville, OK, Carles Acton and wife Leslie of Jenks, OK, David Hopper of Morris, OK, Ashley Corn and husband Steven of Wilson community, and Michael Knight of Tulsa, OK, 13 great grandchildren, Leah Settles and Shelli Barbosa , both of Guymon, OK, Trevor Dunnagan and Brooke Dunnagan, both of Guymon OK, Makena Acton of Kellyville, Brandon Whittman, Jacob and Kendra Acton all of Broken Arrow, OK, Chelsea, Madalyn, Paiton, and Carson Acton all of Jenks, OK, and Rylie Corn of Wilson Community, 4 great-great grandchildren, Garrett and Michael Barbosa and Hunter and Aspen Settles all of Guymon, OK.
Aggie will be fondly remembered by her many loyal customers who came through her doors while operating the HoneyCreek Store for some 34 years. She was, at the very least, county famous for her fresh sliced cold cut sandwiches back before a "Deli" was even heard of. She was a long time member of the Wilson Baptist Church in Henryetta, OK.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Wilson Baptist Church in Henryetta, OK, under the direction of Rogers Funeral Home in Henryetta, OK with the Reverend Jack Vance officiating.
