Christina Abbott age 58 of Purcell passed away on March 14, 2026 at her home. Christina was born in Purcell and raised in the Dibble area. She later moved to Lexington and graduated with the Bulldog class of 1985.
Her family owned and operated the Lexington Nursing Home, which inspired Christina to follow her grandmother’s foot steps into the family business. She began helping there at a young age and officially went to work there after high school. Over the years she earned her CMA license and her administrator’s license which allowed her to serve as Nursing Home Administrator for over sixteen years.
When she wasn’t working, Christina loved to care for her family. She took pride in making sure everyone was well fed and entertained. Her family will remember her for her broccoli cheddar casserole, chicken enchiladas, and chicken and dumplings. She had a laugh that stood out in a crowd, she loved to swim, listen to all kinds of music, and play with her tea cup Yorkie named Pippin. Christina was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, and mimi who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Bonnie Hackney, father Jerry Dan Whatley, and her infant daughters Christony and Jerrica.
Christina leaves behind her husband Lee Abbott of Purcell and her mother Shirley Whatley of Dibble. Her children Lacie Austin and Joe of Dibble and Austin Whatley and wife Gina of Chickasha. Her siblings David Whatley of Muskogee, Kelli Whatley of Dibble, and Susan Walker of Lexington. Her grand children Danee, Derik, Denver, and Devyn- and one on the way.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Monday March 23, 2026 at Little’s Chapel, Wilson-Little Purcell.
