Don Edward Hansen, 69, of Pawnee, Oklahoma, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Galveston, Texas. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Perry, Oklahoma. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Sumner Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Don was born in Pawnee, Oklahoma on January 14, 1947 to Herman and Cora (Haley) Hansen. He grew up in Morrison and graduated from Morrison High in 1965. On September 21, 1968 he married the love of his life Gloria Goossen in Cleveland, Oklahoma.

Don retired from Mercury Motors after 32 years of service. He enjoyed trading animals and going to the sale barn. His sense of humor was well known, as he enjoyed cutting up and joking with everyone. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Hansen in 2008; parents, Herman and Cora Hansen; sister Lydia Webb; and brother Timmy Hansen.

He is survived by his children Donetta Miner and husband Terry, Pawnee, OK; Jeff Hansen, Galveston, TX; Jerry Hansen and wife Kim, Stillwater, OK; sister Janis Mayo, Saginaw, TX; brothers-Steve Hansen, Flower Mound, TX; John Hansen, Azel, TX; and grandchildren Cameron Miner, Landon Miner, Nathan Hansen, Katie Hansen, Jessica Hansen, Mickey Hansen, Wyatt Hansen, Hannah Hansen, Coby Hansen, Breyer Hansen, and Allison Berry.

Memorials may be made to the local animal shelters or local 4-H/FFA chapters, c/o Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home, P.O. Box 189, 203 E. Fir, Perry, OK 73077.
