Wednesday morning December 16, a party of Odd Fellows and Rev. V. Williams went in cars from Stillwater to Sumner to attend the funeral of Portney Belk.
Mr. Belk died at Tulsa where he had been living for two years.
The body was laid away in the cemetery at Sumner after a funeral service at the Christian Church.
Mr. Belk was formerly a well-known and highly respected citizen of this county. He secured a farm on Long Branch at the opening of the Cherokee Strip. He had lived on his farm till his removal to Tulsa two years ago.
