Obit for Mildred posted by Jo Aguirre

Mildred J. Dormire, 81, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at her home near Morrison.

Graveside services will be held at Red Rock Cemetery Monday, June 1, 2015 at 2 p.m. under the direction of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Perry, Oklahoma.

Mildred was born to Harry and Mary (Hines) Ingmire on April 2, 1934. She grew up around Marland, Oklahoma where she played on the women’s high school basketball team of 1950 who were the state champions. She graduated from Marland in 1951.

On January 28, 1955 she married C.W. Dormire and they moved to a farm east of Red Rock, Oklahoma. Mildred was employed for Conoco before her marriage and for a few years after. As a farmer’s wife she took care of the new born baby calves on the kitchen floor, drove a tractor baling hay or working ground, whatever was needed. It was always a busy time for Mildred during harvest as she drove the wheat truck but she always fixed and brought lunch to the field for everyone. Her final days were spent living on the farm and taking care of her calves.

She is survived by her son Mark Dormire, Perry, Oklahoma and her daughter Janet Crenshaw of Red Rock, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Kody Dormire and Reid Dormire, both of Perry, Brandon Crenshaw and Dustin Crenshaw, both of Red Rock. She is also survived by her sister Dolores Wycoff, and brothers Dannie Ingmire and Wilbur Ingmire, all of Marland.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Dormire and her parents.

Memorial donations may be made to the Marland, Red Rock, or Morrison Fire Departments, in care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry, P.O. Box 189, Perry, OK, 73077.

Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at www.perrycares.com.
