Cynthia Barnes (Romero), 76, of Red Rock, passed away on January 11, 2025, amongst a host of beloved family members. 
 

Cynthia was born on October 16, 1948, to Effie Carson and Maurilio Romero in Pawnee. She was the last surviving child of Effie Carson who was the oldest child of George and Della Jeans Carson. She was a proud member of the Otoe-Missouria Tribe and of the Beaver Clan. Cynthia graduated high school from Riverside Indian School. After high school Cynthia made a life in Enid where she raised her four children while working as a shirt/jeans presser at Oxford Dry Cleaners.
 

Cynthia enjoyed her bowling and playing in pool leagues; she was known to be a good pool player. She loved attending and dancing at powwows, spending time with her family, picking pecans, and eating at Sirloin Stockade. Family fondly remembers how she liked to tell people she was a professional kickboxer. Cynthia was known to be generous and always willing to help.
 

Cynthia is preceded in death by her mother and father, former spouse of twenty-one years John Robert Barnes (Bob), five brothers and three sisters
 

She is survived by her children, Yancey Romero and wife Monica, Pamela Romero, Crystal Romero, Cynthia Barnes (Baby) and husband Kevin Toehay, and special son Frank Carson. Also, her eighteen Grandchildren and twenty-two Great-Grandchildren. 
 

Evening NAC Services will be held at Otoe Baptist Church in Red Rock at 7 p.m. on Monday, January 13th.
 

On Tuesday, January 14th a Traditional Feast will be served at 12 noon followed by a service and burial at the Red Rock Cemetery.
