Services at Home For Johnny Moore
Tribal funeral services for Johnny Moore, 48, Red Rock, are scheduled at the family home near here. Moore, a champion Indian dancer , died Tuesday in an Enid hospital. He won the fancy war dancer division at the Douglas Management Club Powwow held here two years ago and had appeared at Indian festivals in several states.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie; four sons, Elton, Randall, Roland, and Johnny Moore Jr., of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Loretta Hess of Enid, Mrs. Claudette Morris, Red Rock and Corena and Lorraine Moore of the home. Also, four brothers, Everett Moore, Tulsa, Thurman Moore, Shawnee, Rodney Moore, Pawnee, and Bob Moore, Red Rock ; three sisters , Mrs. Fannie Grant, Red Rock, Mrs. Lizzie Springer, Tryon, and Mrs. Mary Surritte, Hominy, and three grandchildren.
A funeral feast will be held Saturday afternoon at the family home.
Burial will be in the Otoe cemetery here under the direction of Poteet Funeral Home of Pawnee.
