Robert Kihega, "Bobby K", passed away at his home in Marland on January 5, 2018. He was 90 years old.

Robert was born on September 6, 1927 in Red Rock to his parents, George Kihega and Sarah Grace (Hudson) Kihega. He married Eva Sylvia Poore on July 23, 1976 in Perry, Oklahoma at Calvary Baptist Church. Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Robert was influential within his tribe and community and served in various capacities within the Otoe-Missouria Tribe. He enjoyed mowing and working on his family land. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching them participate in their hobbies and activities.

Robert is survived by his brother, Ronald Kihega, grandson, Miles Bender of Marland, granddaughter, Michelle Bailey and husband Eddie of Ponca City, granddaughter, Frances Hopper of Enid, great-grandchildren, Diana, Aaron "Binx", and Katrina Bailey all of Ponca City, step-daughters, Lena Gawhega of Marland and Audrey Gawhega of Billings, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Grace Kihega, wife, Eva Kihega, brothers, Richard Kihega and Gene Kihega, sisters, Marian Kihega Stone, Lorena Kihega DeRoin, and Priscilla Kihega Arkeketa, and stepsons, Raymond Gawhega and Thomas Gawhega.

Casketbearers will be: Darrell Kihega, Garland Arkeketa, Patrick Arkeketa, Curtis Burgess, Eddie Bailey, Donnie Green, Bob Mackey, and Aaron Bailey.

A wake service will be held on Monday, January 8, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. at the cultural center. A traditional funeral ceremony will be held following the noon meal on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Otoe-Missouria Cultural Center.

Burial to follow at the Otoe-Missouria Cemetery.

Services are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory in Ponca City, Oklahoma.
