John E. Homeratha, 42, died in a Chicago, Illinois, hospital following a period of ill health. His service will be at 1 PM Wednesday in Henninger – Allen Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Swallow officiating.
Burial will
follow in the Otoe – Missouria Cemetery at Red Rock.
Homeratha was born December 23, 1936, at Pawnee, and attended
school at Red Rock prior to moving to Wichita, Kansas. He
graduated from the Haskell Institute at Lawrence, Kansas, and
entered the military serving with the 82nd Airborne Division as
a paratrooper. Following his discharge, he lived in Chicago
where he was employed as a welder. He moved to Enid where he
continued to work as a welder. From 1966 to 1973, he worked in
the oil fields at Hennessey, returning to Chicago in 1974.
Homeratha was a member of the Body of Christ.
Survivors include three sisters, Reba Homeratha and Frieda
Ellis, both of Enid, and Lily Rice, Edmond; one brother, Phil
Lawrence, Kansas; his father, Curtis Homeratha, Red Rock; and
several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
