Timmy Wayne Bassett, 62, passed away at his home in Red Rock, Oklahoma on April 2, 2024.

He was born on September 17, 1961, in Pawnee, Oklahoma, to Regina (Bassett) Andrews. Timmy was raised by his loving grandparents Ted and Lena Black. He was a member of the Owl Clan and the Otoe-Missouria Tribe of Oklahoma. 
 

Timmy's warm and kind-hearted nature touched the lives of all who knew him. Described as having not a mean bone in his body, he will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. He was a hard worker at home as well as his job as a truck driver for PK Propane.  In his free time, Timmy enjoyed pursuing his hobbies which included golfing, fishing, supporting teams like the Oklahoma Sooners, Dallas Cowboys, and Texas Rangers, spending quality time with his family - especially his children and grandchildren - and slapping those buttons at the casino! 

Timmy is survived by his wife Gabrielle Bassett; son Joshua and wife Jewell Black; daughter Lisa and Marcus Porter; son Chase and Holley Black; his sisters: Robyn Andrews, Joanne Hauetter, Phoebe Miller; and his brother Dennis Black; nine grandchildren, and his fur baby Anakin.

He was preceded in death by his birth mother Regina (Bassett) Andrews; parents Ted & Lena Black; sisters Diana Thompson and Karen Hill, Lisa Black, and Althea Young; brothers Ted Black Jr., Victor Young, and Ronnie Andrews as well as numerous other family members.

Evening prayer services will be at 7pm on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at the Otoe-Missouria Cultural Center. A funeral service to honor and celebrate Timmy's life will be held on April 5 th, 2024, 10am, at the Otoe - Missouria Cultural Center in Red Rock, Oklahoma.

Burial will follow at the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Cemetery.  

His legacy of kindness and unwavering love will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. Timmy will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
 

The family also wishes to thank Elara Caring Hospice, Stillwater Cancer Center, and Pawnee Indian Health Service for their wonderful care of Timmy.
