Da Lynn Marie Bailey, Shoo Gah Ka Mee (White Horse), 41 of Hugo, passed away unexpectedly on July 18th, 2024.

Services are scheduled for her arrival at the Otoe Missouria Cultural Center Saturday July 27, 2024 with evening devotional from the Native American Church on Sunday July 28th, with a traditional dinner at noon with burial to follow at the Otoe Cemetery Monday, July 29th, 2024. 
 

Da Lynn was born on March 22, 1983 in Tulsa, OK. She is the daughter of the late Greg Bailey and Delaine Alley. She was named after the late Great-Grandma Katie Black who was married to Dugan Black. Her Grandfather is the late Dennis Leroy Alley, “My-Yah-Shugie,” meaning Redland of the Buffalo Clan, his Grandma was Nannie Childs Alley who composed the Otoe Flag Song. 


Da Lynn most recently worked for the Choctaw Casino. She also worked at the Choctaw Nursing Home, and was a lifetime member of the national pow wow association. Da Lynn was best known for her contagious laugh and awesome story telling. She grew up on the pow wow trail as a Champion Southern Buckskin dancer, and danced Jingle in Juniors.

Da Lynn was royalty serving as the Otoe-Missouria Tribal Princess, the Loyal Shawnee Princess and the Meskwaki Labor Day Pow Wow Princess.

She was a daughter, mother, sister, niece, cousin, and has adopted brothers and sisters all across Indian country. She easily made friends everywhere she went. She was loved by all, and will be greatly missed leaving all those who knew her with good memories and laughs.

She leaves behind both her grandmother’s Mary Rose Secondine Mead, mother of Delaine Alley, and Inell Pistubbe Bailey mother of the late Greg Bailey; brothers Daniel and David Mead of Tahlequah; her beloved children Starlit, Donick, Daytin (Bubs), “Obvnuce (O-bun-u-cee) and Daylen, numerous extended family and countless pow wow relatives.
