Virgil Lee Adams, resident of Ponca
City, passed Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home. He was 55 years
of age.
Virgil was born November 16, 1958 in Fort Worth, Texas, the son of
Carl W. Adams and Greta Marie Brown Adams. He was a 1977 graduate of
Red Rock High School and then attended Indian Meridian VoTech School
for electrical training. He was married to Shirley Dickens on
February 14, 1994 in Red Rock. He had attended the Otoe Baptist
Church. He was last employed in customer service with the Sykes
Enterprises. His enjoyments were listening to oldies music, watching
TV, and he loved his four cats.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley, of the home his mother, Greta
Marie Adams three children, Jini Watson Adams, Tara Brown and Shawna
Cogburn three stepchildren, Tonya Hutchinson, Tami Loftis and John
Edwards four sisters, Sharilyn Stephens, Anita Wilkinson, Mae
LeClair and husband Arlington, and Carla Adams one brother, Bert
Samqua and wife Camilla numerous grandchildren and great
grandchildren his aunt Janice Adams and cousin Linda Morrison.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents his maternal
grandparents, Bert Brown and Carmel Howell Brown his father Carl W.
Adams aunt and uncle Laberta May Smith and Jesse Lee Smith Uncle
Wilbur Dean Adams and cousin Robert Carl Scruggs.
Prayer services will be held Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at the Otoe
Baptist Church in Red Rock. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.
Friday, October 17, 2014 also at the Otoe Baptist Church.
Burial will follow in the
OtoeMissouria Cemetery under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
A noon meal will follow the burial back at the Otoe Baptist Church.
