Alene Mae Adams longtime Marland resident passed
away Saturday, December 31, 2016 with her loving family by her side in Ponca
City, OK. She was 57 years of age. Alene was born on March 5, 1959 in Arkansas
City, Kansas to Calvin Spencer Arkeketa and Priscilla Kihega Arkeketa.
The traditional Noon feast and give away will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2017
in the Otoe – Missouria Tribal Complex in Red Rock, OK with Pastor Jimmy Kenner
officiating. Interment will be held in the
Otoe –
Missouria tribal Cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of Grace Memorial Chapel of Ponca City, OK
Alene grew up in Northern Oklahoma and received her Associate degree in Business
Administration from NOC in Tonkawa, OK. She married the love of her life Sam P.
Adams on April 15, 1977 in Perry, OK and they made their home in Ponca City and
then moved to Marland a year later and made their family Homestead there. She
was the Director of Transportation with the Otoe – Missouria Tribe for over 25
years. Alene was a dedicated Garage sale shopper and she also enjoyed shopping
every chance she had. Alene also enjoyed spending as much time as possible with
her grandchildren.
Survivors include: her husband Sam of the Home; 3 daughters; Bridget Adams and
Charlene Adams both of Marland, OK and Mariah Adams of Ponca City, OK 3
brothers; Victor Primeaux of Albuquerque, NM Garland Arkeketa and Charlie
Arkeketa both of Ponca City, OK 2 sisters; Delores Bear of Moore, OK and Rosetta
Blueback of Ponca City, OK. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 4 great
grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alene was preceded in death by her parents.
