Harry Bendure, 75, of Perry, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and United
States Navy Veteran, died peacefully the afternoon of Monday, August 1st, 2016.
He was laid to rest in St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery on Thursday, August
4th, 2016
A native of Drumright, OK, Harry spent most of his adult life in Perry where he
served as a mechanical engineer for the Charles Machine Works - Ditch Witch. He
and his wife of 54 years, Pamela, enjoyed their retirement in Perry and many
good times with their three children and six grandchildren. In his retirement,
he enjoyed his model train hobby as well as puzzles and games.
Harry was an active member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and was a
member of the Knights of Columbus. Private graveside services have been
entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home and will be held at Mt Carmel Catholic
Cemetery on Thursday, August 4, 2016 with Father Bala of St. Rose of Lima
Catholic Church officiating.
Following graduation from Drumright High School in 1959, Harry entered the Navy
where he worked as a weapons engineer. After being honorably discharged in 1962,
Harry attended Tulsa University where he earned both a Bachelor's and a Master's
degree in Mechanical Engineer. He had a lifelong interest in all things
mechanical that he passed along to his two sons, who also became mechanical
engineers.
Harry was born on July 29, 1941 in Lima, Ohio to Ralph H. Bendure and Bonnie May
Bendure (Moore). He married Pamela Adams on July 14, 1962 in San Diego, CA.
Harry is survived by his wife, His sons, Todd Bendure and wife, Kelly, Denton
TX, Scott Bendure and wife, Cindy, Perry, OK, daughter Lora Tidwell and husband,
Matt, Shawnee, KS, and sister, Linda Lurvey and husband, Vic, Skiatook,
Oklahoma.
He is also survived by his grandchildren including Kaelyn Scott and husband,
Chris, Chad Bendure, Brittany Bendure, Ethan Tidwell, Stacy Bendure and Brianna
Guevara.
In lieu of flowers, Harry requested donations be made to Catholic Charities in
Oklahoma City, OK, or to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Cemetery in Perry, OK.
