Thomas Hart Benton Jr, 86, beloved husband, dad, grandfather, great-grand father, and brother, was called to his eternal resting place on February 18, 2021 with his wife by his side. He entered this world on October 22, 1934 in Cushing, Oklahoma, born to Thomas Hart Benton, Sr and Ella Mae Mitchell Benton.
 
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Ponca City Assembly with Pastor Dewayne Bardwell officiating.

Interment will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Morrison Cemetery in Morrison, OK.

The family has asked memorial donations be made to Ponca City Assembly building fund or Ponca City Assembly Mpact Girls program.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 23, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family in attendance from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to receive friends and relatives.

Tom married the love of his life, Rowena Gale Wilkey, on September 21, 1956 in Morrison, OK, and they made their home in Ponca City, OK. Tom joined the Labor Union in 1953 and received his 50 year labor union gold card; during that time he worked for Ivan King, Larry Chitwood, and Sober Brothers. He retired in 2002. Tom enjoyed working on cars, quail hunting, and working. Tom was a trustee for Morrison Assembly of God for numerous years, he was also an active member of Ponca City Assembly, and he helped with the foundation on the new Ponca City Assembly location.
 
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife Rowena of 64 years. Four sons; Kevin and Melissa Benton of Broken Arrow, OK, Kendale Benton and Sam Chanslor, Kyle and Rhonda Benton and Kori and Jacki Benton all of Ponca City, OK, two sisters; Ruth Ellen Benton and Patricia Jean Benton both of Glencoe, OK, grandchildren; James Allen and Simone Benton of Australia, Alicia Lynn and Andrew Scott of Troy, NY, Kendra Bari and Adam Walter of Yukon, OK, Kristopher Daniel Benton of Stroud, OK, Joshua Thomas Benton of Ponca City, OK, Jennifer Nicole Benton-Vallejo and Joseph Vallejo of Denton, TX, Jadyn Faye Benton and Kasen Michael Benton both of Ponca City, OK and one great grandson; Joseph Dale Benton of Colorado, also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
 
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son, James Thomas Benton.
