Kathy Sue Smith

Kathy Sue Smith, 49, of Lucien, Oklahoma, was the daughter of Chester Patrick and Melva Arlene (Maloney) Vaughan.

She was born on May 6, 1963 in Perry, Oklahoma and died Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at her residence in Lucien, Oklahoma.

She married her best friend, Jerr Smith on May 22, 1982 in Nash, Oklahoma.


Kathy worked at Ditch Witch in Perry, Oklahoma for thirty one years as a heavy machinery assembler. She also was a volunteer fire fighter and emergency responder for the Lucien Fire Department for ten years.

She enjoyed reading and was known for helping others.

Kathy was a member of the Evangel Assembly of God Church in Enid, Oklahoma.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma.  Interment will be at McGuire Cemetery in Lucien, Oklahoma. Rev. Lester L. Lowry will officiate. Services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.
Visitation with family 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Jerry Smith of the home; two daughters, April Smith and Sarah Smith both of Lucien, Oklahoma; four brothers, Tim Vaughan of Perry, Oklahoma, John Vaughan of Enid, Oklahoma, Andy Vaughan of Westland, Michigan and Mark Vaughn of Cisco, Texas; one sister, Patsy Streller of Perry, Oklahoma.


She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Melva Vaughan; one brother, Mike Vaughan; one sister, Sharon Ann Vaughan.
Memorials may be made to Kathy Smith Medical Fund in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077.
