Dennis Carlyle Rupp, age 82, of Lucien, passed away November 29, 2024, in Stillwater. He was born on December 12, 1941, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Dennis was the son of Clara (Snyder) and Adolph Rupp of Lucien, Oklahoma.

He grew up a happy child in the Lucien Community on their farm. Dennis was in the last eighth grade class of Lucien Elementary School. He attended and graduated from Perry High School in 1959, where he won several speech contests in FFA. Dennis also attended and graduated from Oklahoma State University. He married his high school sweetheart, Edda Jo Zavodny, on May 13, 1961.


Dennis was commissioned as an officer in the U. S. Army and he and Edda entered service in 1964 and was discharged in 1966. After the army, Dennis began farming with his father and mother. After 28 years of farming, he was employed at Charles Machine Works as well as Noble County Rural Water District #1. He retired in 2009.

The rest of Mr. Rupp’s life was spent on his beloved farm, traveling, and enjoying his family.


He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife Edda, his son Jacob and wife Alisha; daughters Jennifer and Jondra; three granddaughters: Clara, Christine and Caroline; and his sister, Karen Rupp-Carpenter.


Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Dighton-Marler Funeral Home in Perry.

Graveside service will be at McGuire Cemetery near Lucien at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 7, 2024.
