Funeral services for Ellsworth “Buddy” L. McNeal, Jr, 68 of Fairmont, will be Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 10:00am in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Covington, OK, with Pastor Kenneth Wade officiating.Burial will follow in McGuire Cemetery, Lucien, OK under the direction of Anderson-Burris Funeral Home, Enid. Ellsworth “Buddy” L. McNeal, Jr. was born on March 27, 1951 in Enid, Oklahoma to Ellsworth L. McNeal, Sr. and Ida Lee O’Banion McNeal and died on December 11, 2019 at his home in Fairmont, Oklahoma.
He graduated from Carrier High School in 1969 and went to work at Vance Air Force Base on the flight line. On March 31, 1972, Buddy married the love of his life, Charlette J. Free, making way for the birth of their son, Mike, in 1973. In 1973, he also changed jobs and went to work for Champlin Refinery until it closed. After that, Buddy went on the road welding, from coast to coast, building everything from compressor stations to pipelines, making many new friends and wonderful memories. Buddy loved playing pool, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob.
He is survived by the love of his life, Charlette of the home; son and wife, Mike and Nanc McNeal of Corvallis, MT; goddaughter, Rachael Lee of Enid; other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made through Anderson-Burris to Hospice Circle of
Love.
