GUTHRIE, LOGAN CO, OK
(permission granted)

Geraldine “Gerri” Jones was born on November 12, 1937 and went to be with the Lord on August 30, 2012, after losing her battle with cancer. Geraldine was born to Robert and Lillian Breedlove and was raised in Norman, OK.

She married Alton Cossey and they had six children and were married for 26 years until his passing.

Geraldine was an amazing and dedicated mother and grandmother. Her strength of character was so strong and admired by all that knew her. Her children and grandchildren never doubted her love and devotion up to the day she passed away. Her love was unconditional and never ending for her family. No matter what.

Geraldine met and married William E “Sonny” Burress and had 11 treasured years with him and his children until his passing. Special thanks to the Burress family for the fun filled years together and loving our mom, from the Cossey family.

Gerri was blessed again to meet the most amazing man, William L. “Bill” Jones. They married and made their home in Guthrie, OK for 10 wonderful years. They traveled on their trail rides, enjoyed music nights and loved to dance. Thanks to the Jones family for loving Grammie.

She was the most colorful woman and had a unique way about her that you couldn't help but fall in love with her. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and her beautiful smile will be forever missed.

She is survived by her mother Lillian Breedlove of Norman; husband Bill Jones of the home; three sons Raymond Cossey (Jayne) and Louis Cossey (Pam Charles) all of Norman and Shawn Jones (Sharman) of Guthrie; three daughters Linda Croslin (Gerald) and Lisa Hay (John Matthews) all of Norman and Barbara Kirk (Ernie) of Guthrie; two brothers Joe Breedlove of Topeka, KS and Ronnie Breedlove of Norman; three sisters Norma Lee Frisby of Louisiana and Tajwana Lyons and Toni Peery both of Norman; and 25 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson.

Gerri was preceded in death by her father, Robert, son, Wayne Cossey, daughter, Deborah Cossey, and two grandsons, Curren Cossey and Mitchell Eades.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Crosspointe Church in Norman. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Noble, OK. Services are under the direction of Smith-Gallo Funeral Home, Guthrie.

Visitation will be held Monday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
