She was raised and educated, graduating from Orlando High School as salutatorian in 1949. Dorothy worked at Production Marketing Association. She was united in marriage to Loren Hayes on October 24, 1950, at Lucien United Methodist Church and celebrated 67 years of marriage. They raised two daughters, Connie and Elaine, and one son, Keith. They lived east of Orlando, OK, and then purchased a farm South of Lucien in 1956 where they currently live. Dorothy helped with farming, school activities and 4-H with the children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Clara Finnell, one brother, Wilber Finnell, and mother-in-law, Lela (Snyder) Hayes.
Burial will follow at the McGuire Cemetery East of Lucien.
The visitation will be at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home in Perry on Sunday, July 22nd from 5:00-7:00 P.M.
In lieu of
flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UMW (United
Methodist Women) at Lucien United Methodist Church.
