Dorothy Dean “Snyder” Johnson Dowell, age 94, a resident of Perry, OK, went home to be with her Lord on January 12, 2020.
She will be

following the celebration.
Dorothy was born on August 21, 1925 to
HC (Clifford) and Amy Snyder in
Billings, OK. She worked at Montgomery
Ward and Charles Machine Works, where
she retired in 1991. Dorothy married
Orlin Johnson on May 4, 1946 and
celebrated 42 years of marriage until
his death in 1988. She married Claude
Dowell on July 10, 1999 and was married
to him until his death in 2005. She
loved watching her grandchildren and
great grands playing sports. She wanted
to be at everything they did and really
missed not being there the last year.
Dorothy kept a book where she wrote down
the stats for the Thunder. She knew all
of their names, who was going to play,
how many points each one made and called
them by name. She was disappointed when
Russ left and really missed him and KD.
Dorothy also loved OU girls basketball.
She loved playing card games, dominoes
and bingo with her good friend Frances.
She is survived by her daughters:
Shirley VanHoesen and husband Roy (Bub),
Darla Johnson and husband Ralph both of
Perry; granddaughters: Jennifer Gregg
and husband Ross, Mandy Snyder and
Travis Lowry, Angel Boone and husband
Justin and Bethany Christensen;
great-granddaughters: Ciara Pearson and
husband Jon, Mariah Gregg, Taleah Gregg,
Hadlee Snyder and Annah Boone;
great-grandsons: James Christensen and
Jaxon Boone; great-great-grandchildren:
Saylor, Crew and Averi Pearson.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by
her parents, sisters: Velma Collier and
Virginia Richardson; brothers: Raymond
Snyder, Lawrence Snyder and Robert
Snyder.
Casket bearers will be her nephews: Mike
Snyder, Randy Snyder, Jack Snyder and
her grandsons: Justin Boone, Ross Gregg
and Travis Lowry. Honorary casket
bearers will be her nephew Richard
Snyder, and grandsons: Jon Pearson,
Jaxon Boone, James Christensen and Crew
