Frank P. Davidson Dead

Many were shocked on New Year's Day to learn of the sudden death of Frank P Davidson, one of our best and most substantial farmers living west of Pawnee.  Mr . Davidson was taken with acute pneumonia and was sick a couple of days, dying on New Year's morning.  Pawnee county loses a mighty good citizen in the person of Frank Davidson.

Franklin Pierce Davidson was born in Venango county, Pennsylvania, July 25, 1855, and died at his home near Pawnee, Oklahoma , January 1, 1908.  In October 1864, he moved with his parents to Washington county, Iowa, where he resided on a farm until 1884, when he moved to Riverside Iowa and engaged in buying stock , and other business.  In Dec. 1900 he moved his family to his farm, four miles west of Pawnee, where he resided until his death.

Mr. Davidson was united in marriage December 26th, 1877 to Catharine Hunter.  To this union six children were born.  The daughter, Cora, died in Riverside , Iowa, in the fall of 1887.

He is survived by the wife, five sons, Clinton, Howard, Grover, Ray and Everett, and one granddaughter, Velma; also a brother and three sisters: Archibald Davidson, Mrs. Sadie Owen, Mrs. Mary Anderson, of Iowa, and Mrs. Tillie Housel, of Kansas.

The remains were laid to rest in the Lela, Oklahoma Cemetery.
