Lida Vernon Williams, age 88, of Stillwater, passed away on
Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in the Stillwater Medical Center. Memorial services
have been entrusted to the Palmer-Marler-Carberry Funeral Home and will be held
at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Countryside Baptist Church with Brother J.B. Bond
officiating.
Vernon was born on May 3, 1920, in Stigler, to Albert and Ollie Lee Hurst. She
grew up and attended school in the Seminole area, later graduating. She later
married Leland "L.B." Williams in 1945 and relocated to Andrews, Texas.
Vernon moved to Stillwater in 1975 where she was a real estate broker for
several years. She was a member of the Countryside Baptist Church. Her hobbies
included avid contract bridge playing and taking care of her daughter Suzy. The
highlights of her life were her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Leland Williams; one daughter, Susan
Powers; one son, John Terry Williams; and one sister, Lucille Shed..
She is survived by her son-in-law, Van Powers of Stillwater; three
grandchildren, Eric James Bilodeau of Dallas, Texas, Michelle Suzanne Bilodeau
of Stillwater and Holly Renee Pratt and husband, James Pratt, of Dallas, Ga.;
great-grandsons; Brandon Zachary Bilodeau and Ethan Young Bilodeau; and
great-granddaughter, Emily Suzanne Pratt.
