Cecil “Carl” Treiner, age 87, of Perry, passed away June 14, 2018, while at Green Valley Nursing Home. A memorial ceremony for will be held Friday, June 22, 2018 at ten o’clock in the morning at Trout Funeral Home Chapel of Perry with Pastor Steve Smith officiating.

Carl was born to Frank and Bessie (Lauderdale) Treiner on April 2, 1931 in Ripley County, Missouri. He grew up in a large family and he was the youngest of 9 siblings. Carl graduated from Naylor High School and was his class valedictorian.

After spending a brief time in the United States Army he returned to Naylor, Missouri, where he married Mavis June Foster. The couple moved to St. Louis, Missouri, where they had three children: Terry Lynn, Dennis Lee, and Randall Carl.

Carl spent his early years providing for his family by working in the grocery business and as a lumber inspector for Walnut Sales in St. Louis. In his later years, Carl worked for Southern Cross Lumber Company. He was a member of the Carpenters Union of St. Louis.

Carl was an avid reader and especially loved autobiographies about the people he admired. Carl especially loved to read about Abraham Lincoln. One of his other passions was dancing. He entered several dance contests, winning several prizes and awards.

In 1978, Carl married D. June Finn in St. Louis.

Carl moved to Perry in 2010 to be closer to his son, Randy and his family. While in Perry, he attended the Nazarene Church.

Carl is preceded in death by his parents, both wives, and one son, Dennis Treiner.
Survivors include his daughter, Terry White and her husband, Bonnie of Hawaii, one son, Randy and his wife Nancy of Perry, step daughters Patty Dowd of Georgia and Debbie Sophian of St. Louis, grandchildren Marcus White, Kelley Webber, and Julie White of Charlotte, North Carolina, Sean White of Hawaii, and Benjamin Treiner and Katie Harmon of Perry, one sister Billie McGee of St. Ann, Missouri, and 8 great grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association in care of Trout Funeral Home of Perry, 1408 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK, 73077. Online condolences may be made at www.troutperry.com
