Max L. Tooman, 83, of Perry, died Friday, October 19, 2007 at Green Valley Nursing Home in Perry. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Grace Hill Memorial Pavilion at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry. Rev. Roger Dunn will officiate and the services are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home of Perry.

He was born July 15, 1924 in Arkansas City, Kansas to Golda K. and Pearl (Cummins) Tooman.

He served his country in the United States Army from 1945 until 1967. After his retirement from military service, he owned and operated the Southside Bar in Perry. He was also a member of the Perry Elks Lodge.

Max is survived by one sister, Vera Zink, of Enid, Oklahoma; one nephew, Bill Tooman, of Enid; two nieces and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.

Memorials may be made to the Perry Elks Lodge or Companion Hospice in care of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, Oklahoma 73077.
