A graveside service for Cora Seal, 104, of Perry, will be 10 a.m. today, Nov.
14, 2008, at Grace Hill Memorial Pavilion in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry. The
Rev. John Vaughan will officiate. Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home,
Perry.
She was born Aug. 14, 1904, near Athens, Ark., to Polk and Julie Miller and died
Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at her home.
She married Robert Porter in 1919, in Pike County, Ark. He died in 1929. She
married Ledrick Peterson in 1932, in Hot Springs, Ark., where they made their
home. She married Elmer Seal in 1942, in Perry. They owned and operated Seal
Grocery, Perry, from 1950, until retiring in 1975. He died in March, 1985.
During the Depression she worked at a cafe in Hot Springs. At age 100, she was
chosen Honorary Parade Marshal for the Cherokee Strip Celebration parade.
Surviving are one son, Howard Seal of Perry; one daughter, Sarah Olena Gregg of
Corpus Christi, Texas; two step-sons, Calvin Seal of Lake Wales, Fla., and
Clifford Seal of San Francisco, Calif; 16 grandchildren; and numerous
great-grandchildren.
In addition to her first husband, Robert and her husband, Elmer, she was
preceded in death by one son, one step-son, one step-daughter, three brothers,
two sisters, four haf-brothers, and one half-sister.

73077, to the American Heart Association.
