Martha Susan "Suzy" Powers

Martha Susan "Suzy" Powers, age 58, of Stillwater, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008, in the Stillwater Medical Center. Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home, Stillwater, and will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday in Countryside Baptist Church with Brother J.B. Bond officiating. There will be a burial to follow in Grace Hill Cemetery.

Suzy was born on Feb. 18, 1950, in Andrews, Texas, to Leland "L.B." Williams and Lida Vernon Witt. Growing up in Andrews, she later attended college at San Angelo, Texas.

She was married to James Bilodeau until 1987 and had three wonderful children.

Later, Susie married Van Powers on April 29, 1989, in Stillwater.

She was a faithful member at Countryside Baptist Church. She worked as a paralegal at Gary Swimley Law Firm from 1998 to 2002, in Stillwater. Susie was very creative and loved life. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, watching movies and taking care of her flowers and plants. Her grandchildren were the highlight of her life. She will be missed so much by all her family and friends.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, John Terry Williams.

She is survived by her husband, Van Powers, of 19 years; one son, Eric James Bilodeau of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Michelle Suzanne Bilodeau of Stillwater and Holly Renee Pratt and husband, James Pratt, of Dallas, Ga.; grandsons, Brandon Zachary Bilodeau and Ethan Young Bilodeau; and granddaughter, Emily Suzanne Pratt.

Visitation will be held in Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home on today until 8 p.m. and Wednesday 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

Family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday. Memorial contributions can be made to the Stillwater Humane Society or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation c/o Palmer Marler Carberry Funeral Home 5106 N. Washington, Stillwater, OK 74075.
