Shawna McKenzie, 36, passed from this life on Friday, January 23, 2015
in Perry, OK. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler
Funeral Home of Perry. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am
Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at the Grace Hill Cemetery Pavilion. A

at the Palmer Marler Funeral Home chapel in Perry.
Shawna was born on November 2, 1978 to Glen Pennington and Dawn McKenzie
in Springfield, Missouri. After moving to the Perry area, Shawna
attended Glencoe High School. Shawna was a fun loving woman who always
enjoyed spending time with her family. As a kid, she loved to fight with
her brother, Joshua, but always took care of him the best she could.
Shawna loved the fourth of July because her brother would shoot the
fireworks and she could sit back and watch the show. Growing up, Shawna
knew she would be a great mother. Anytime she saw someone holding a
baby, she would ask to hold them. She was excited and blessed when she
became a mother herself. She had two children, Austin and Courtney
Parmley, who meant the world to her. She cherished every moment she
spent with her family.
Shawna had two places that always put a smile on her face, the lake or
in the clouds. Anytime she had free time, she would get family or
friends to go out and spend an afternoon at the lake. She loved the
feeling of sand between her toes or just splashing the water with her
feet. Although she enjoyed the sand, she preferred flying. Shawna and
her father would take a plane and fly around Perry for hours just taking
in the sights.
Shawna is preceded in death by her uncle, Donnie Maggard, grandfather,
Charles Pennington, great-grandfather, W.G. Tyler, cousin, Derick
Maggard, and aunt, Wanda Alley.
Shawna is survived by her two children, Austin Curtis Parmley and
Courtney Dawn Parmley; both parents, Glen Pennington and step mother,
Kathy, and mother Dawn McKenzie, and step father, H. D. Kukuk; seven
siblings, Joshua McKenzie, Glenna Pennington, Amanda Pennington-Gill,
Erin Breckenridge, John Pennington, Savannah Pennington, and Ashley
Levick; grandparents, (maternal) Raymond and Beverly Tyler and
(paternal) Agnes Pennington. She is also survived by numerous aunts,
uncles, and cousins.
Condolences may be sent to the family via an online guestbook at
