Harry D. MONCRIEF 66, resident of the Noble County area since 1901, died at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 9, 1955) in Enid General hospital following an illness of the past year. He had been in the hospital one day.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Newton funeral chapel, Perry, with burial in Grace Hill cemetery.
Moncrief was born July 15, 1888, in Vinton, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Kansas and in 1901 to a farm near Billings. He was married Dec. 12, 1911, in Perry, to the former Francis Osborn, who survives. After their marriage the couple moved to a farm 12 miles north and three west of Perry.
He was a member of the Ceres Baptist church and Modern Woodmen of America. Moncrief had been active in all affairs of the Ceres community.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors are a son, John Moncrief, and daughter, Mrs Clifford Curby, both of Billings; three granddaughters; two brothers Harley Moncrief, Oklahoma City and Fremont Moncrief, Enid; and three sisters, Mrs. Hazel Lay and Mrs. Minnie Gregg, both of Fairview, and Mrs. Ella Rabor, Stewart, Iowa.
