The graveside service for Maxine Olive Hartman, 90, of Perry, will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry. The family will officiate. A family visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home, Perry.
She was born Nov. 21, 1914, in Red Rock to Joseph S. and Willa Lenore Bagby Province and died Sunday, July 3, 2005, in Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.
She married William C. "Bill" Hartman on Oct. 18, 1935. She graduated from Perry High School. She was an active member of Perry Garden Club, Business -- Professional Women's Club and several other organizations. She served as garden club president and as BPW president and was honored as BPW Woman of the Year. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Perry where she taught Sunday school classes. She worked for several years at Perry High School as secretary to the principal.
Surviving are two sons, Bill Hartman of Ringgold, Ga., and Joe Hartman of Elkhart, Kan.; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and one brother.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.
