Wilma Lavada Tyler was born on Sept 9, 1935 in Coyle, OK to William and Myrtle
(Jenkins) Tyler. She was raised in Morrison and Pawnee. She moved to Perry in
1954 and began working for Nichols Nursing Home as a CNA. In 1966, she married

several years as a cook at Sooners Corner and as a caregiver at Perry Nursing
Home and Green Valley Nursing Home. She retired in 1989 due to health reasons.
Wilma was an ornery, feisty, and independent woman who made the most out of
life. She spent her life selflessly caring for others and she found joy in
placing the needs of others before her own. She enjoyed fishing, going to yard
sales, and she was a wonderful cook. She was never happier than when she was
spending time with her kids and grandkids. Wilma brought so much joy to her
friends and family and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Dale G. Harris, An infant
daughter Deborah Bezeau, brother Richard Tyler, 2 nephews and a niece.
She is survived by her children: Sandra Tyler (Randy Gottfried) of Newkirk, Dale
“Junior” Harris (Sheila) of Ponca City, Mary Ellen Kinder (Jim Ed) of Tryon,
