The funeral for Arelia Garrett, 91, of Perry, will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Brown-Dugger Funeral Home Chapel, Perry. The Rev. Barrie Henke will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery, Perry. 

She was born April 20, 1914, in Noble County to James Ervin and Myrtle Iva Dillard Willhelmns and died Wednes-day, Oct. 19, 2005, at Green Valley Nursing Home, Perry.

She worked as a young girl in the fields instead of going to school.

She married Delbert Garrett Aug. 21, 1934, in Enid. They lived on a farm northeast of Perry. She was a homemaker and helped with farming operations. He died in 1999. She moved into Perry and later to Green Valley Nursing Home. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Leona Grim, Iva Henke and Dolly Brown, all of Perry; one sister, Joyce Grim of Perry; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Delbert, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, one sister, and a grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home, 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077, to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation, Heart Fund or Diabetes Fund.
