Earl Eugene Edgar went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus on October 24th, 2010 in Enid, Oklahoma. Earl was born on August 24th, 1927 to William Henry Edgar and Etta Belle Ohls in Hayward, OK.
Earl grew up and attended school in Hayward, OK later
graduating from high school. On June 27th, 1952, Earl married Melva Kay Thompson
at the Presbyterian Church in Perry, OK. They have been residents of Noble
County their entire lives. They made their home on Highland Drive in Perry, OK
and lived there for 23 years. Earl worked in the oil field. He spent 23 years in
the Shear Department at Ditch Witch. Earl and Melva raised 3 children and
enjoyed their family very much. He especially made time for his loving
grandchildren. He loved spending time fishing and hunting. He always had a smile
on his face and a twinkle in his eye. Earl liked being around people and he
taught responsibility to those he knew and loved. Earl will be missed greatly by
his family and friends.
Earl Eugene Edgar is survived by his wife Melva of the home. His son Bob and
wife Nancy of Perry, OK. 2 daughters Gwen and husband Gordon Johnson of Perry,
OK, Kay Tanimoto of Albuquerque, NM. Sisters Henrietta Becker of Perry, OK and
Ruby Spier of Thomaston, Georgia. Grandchildren E. J. Edgar and wife April of
Blackwell, OK, Erik Edgar and wife Tarah of Perry, OK, Phillip Forest and wife
Precy of Perry, OK, Chelsea Burns and Jared of Yukon, OK, Katelyn Tanimoto of
Oklahoma City, OK. 6 great grandchildren and 6 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Etta Edgar, brothers Kenneth
Edgar, Paul Edgar, and Jerry Edgar. Sisters Betty, Bernice, and Rosalee.
Funeral services have been scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 27th,
2010 in Perry, OK at First Baptist Church with Pastor Aaron Summers officiating.
Interment will be at Grace Hill Cemetery. Family will greet friends on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 6pm-8pm. Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church Falls Creek Cabin or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in care of Perry Funeral Home 203 E. Fir, Perry, OK.
