Enid News and Eagle (OK) - November 10, 2008

The funeral for Charles J. "Charlie" Bezdicek, 84, of Perry, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2008, at First Christian Church. The Rev. Martin Foster will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery . Arrangements are by Brown-Dugger Funeral Home , Perry.

He was born June 12, 1924, on a farm south of Perry to Joseph and Mary Holba Bezdicek and died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at Perry Memorial Hospital.

He was a graduate of Perry High School. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II from September 1942 until May 1946.

He married Delores Marie Spillman Dec. 24, 1946, in New Boston, Texas. She died April 6, 1992.

He later married June McGuar Nov. 8, 1997, in Perry. He worked as a lineman and was the utilities manager for the city of Perry for more than 42 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, Antique Tractor Club and Ellis-Jirous American Legion Post 53.
Surviving are his wife, June; one son, Robert Bezdicek of Tulsa; one daughter, Tana Fraire of Perry; two stepsons, Randy McGuar of Perry, and Rick McGuar of Glencoe; one sister, Rose Mary Bezdicek of Perry; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to his first wife, Delores, he was preceded in death by two daughters, one infant son and one grandson.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home , 1010 N. 7th Street, Perry, OK 73077, to First Christian Church or American Cancer Society.
