Burial will be in
Grace Hill Cemetery.
She was born June 26, 1926, in Perry to Munroe
and Nora Nellie Crowe Elgin and died Saturday,
April 3, 2010, at Green Valley Nursing Home.
She was a 1943 graduate of Perry high school.
She married Walter Ashbrook June 10, 1946, in
Independence, Kansas. He died
May 12, 2001.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church,
Ladies of 76 Homemakers, American Legion
Auxiliary, FCF, Grandparents Club and Jolly 12
Club.
She also was an Avon representative for 40
years.
Surviving are one son, Walter Dean Ashbrook of
Claremore; two daughters, Nellie Perkins of
Yukon and Lynda McKenzie of Kirtland, New
Mexico; one step daughter, Shirley Powers of
Glencoe; one sister, Margaret Elgin Smith of
Perry; eight grandchildren; seven great –
grandchildren; and one great – great – grandson.
In addition to her husband, Walter, she was
preceded in death by two brothers and 3 half –
brothers.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home,
1010 N. 7th St., Perry, OK 73077, to American
Cancer Society or American Heart.
